Sun Temple @ Konark, Odisha (Travelogue)

. This temple is built in the form of a giant ornamented chariot of the Sun God and is faced to the east so that the first rays of the rising sun srike at the main entrance.It has twelve pairs of stone wheels indicating twentyfour hours and is pulled by a set of seven horses. The walls are full with stone carvings of dancing and sexual poses.  
         The temple is on ruins and it is listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
